First Tomic challenge entry

Hello,
Today I decided to be brave and enter the TOMIC Challenge for the first time.  I love Magnolia stamps but lack talent, lol.

This weeks challenge over at TOMIC is

TOMIC #26 ~ Vintage and Lace

The vintage style is very popular, and it is simply to make your card or project look old. You can often find distressed & inked edges, laces, roses, note papers etc. on a vintage project. So let's do it vintage ...

This is my entry.
I was making a custom card for a jewellery customer in France and as luck would have it, it fitted the challenge.

I used
Magnolia
Brotherly Love
Mistletoe stamp
Mistletoe die
Heart swirl branch die

Coloured with Copics

Flowers
Wild Orchid Crafts

Papers
Snowman collection
Magnolia sweet  Flurry blue

Distressed edges inked with Walnut stain

Lace, pearls, card stock from my own collection

Nesties & Sizzix dies

Computer generated sentiment

Hope you like it

I double matted it using Mirri card, and dark silver card.
Sentiment: PB

Hope you like it.
I was thrilled with all the comments left last week.

Thank you

Make it Monochromatic
This week our hostess is the Dazzling Donna and she's challenged us to make a Monochromatic Card!!  So create something with one main colour.....you can use any neutrals and other colours in small amounts, but make one colour the main focus of your design!!
Well I am nuts about browns at the moment so chose that.  there are a few hints at other colours I'm afraid.  But I think I did well to stick to the rules.

I used Perfect Poison who is one of my favourites, and created a magical Christmas card.

Medium: copics
Papers: Unknown
Flowers: Magnolia
Swirl Magnolia
Sentiment: magazine freebie

Hope you like her

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 99: Sparkle and Shine

This weeks challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie's blogspot is
SPARKLE AND/OR SHINE!!  So make sure there's something sparkly or shiny on your creation....it could be glitter or rhinestones, crystal lacquer or metal!!  Sparkle and shine it up!!
I have been itching to try out my one and only KK Christmas stamp Elysia (redundancy sucks), and decided to go for a muted classy look.

I used an ivory gold dust card with a snow embossing folder.  I love this snow folder, as I think it is a great night sky too.

I coloured her with copics, and paper pieces her wings and horn with gold card.

I used Nestabilities labels 22 to create the shape of the image, and sentiment.  Then edged it with antique linen distress ink around the edges to make it stand out a bit more.

My sparkle is in the form of star shaped gems, and teeny crystals

The sentiment is by Penny black

Hope you like it.

Kraftin' Kimmies Challenge 98: Paper piecing

This week the challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmies challenge blog is
to use paper piecing somewhere on your creations!!!  I LOVE paper piecing!  Hope you do too!!  We'd love to see how you use it with our stamps, so if you join our challenge this week, you could be the random winner of the stamp featured on Nicole's gorgeous card!
I just love paper piecing, so many of Kimmie's stamps lend themselves beautifully to it.  On this occasion I decided to use Lavender the Quilter.  Many of my family members are quilters, so I thought I'd get ahead and make a holiday card.

I took a 6 x 6" card and die cut an aperture using Nestabilities labels 22.  I stamped Lavender onto the cut out piece and coloured her with copics.  I use My minds eye papers from Jolly Holly collection to paper piece, and to add a background.  I like these papers they have a real touch of nostalgia.

I buffed tea dye distress ink around the aperture, and the edge of the cut out.  Looking back I wish I had used a different colour.  Never mind eh.
The sentiment is by Whimsy stamps, the ribbon, and thimble charm were from my craft cupboard.

Hope you like it.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #91 A recipe

Well it's no secret how much I love Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, especially the Annie Rodrigue designs.

I finally managed to get hold of  Drucilla this week.  She has been high on my list for ages, and always seemed to be out of stock here in the UK.  But *woot* I have her now.

I of course decided to use her in this weeks challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmies blog is

This week our hostess is Tracy and she has a recipe for us! On your creations please include: 1 flower, 1 ribbon, 1 piece of chipboard! Think you can handle it!? What a fun challenge!

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #90 Distressed

This week over at kraftin' kimmies blogspot the challenge is
To DISTRESS your creations! So ink it up, rough it up, rip it up.....just make sure it's good and distressed!!
Well I just love distressing so LOVED this challenge.  I have had a yearning to do a darker version of Cinderella for a while.  So I dug out my favourite papers Immortal love by DCWV.

I coloured her with Copics, and paper pieced the skirt, then added glitter.   I also added a Bat across the moon and glittered that up too ;)  The Bat was from the Batty Princess stamp set

I added the sentiment Kick up your Heels, and have a Happy Birthday.

I did my distressing with scissors, sandpaper, a paper distressing tool, and good old ripping.

I'm gutted at the pictures, the colours were really rich, but my day lamp washed it out.

Hope you like it

Penny Black Saturday Challenge week 162

Hi,
Welcome to my little blog.
This week the challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge is

PENNY BLACK/GROUND
and if you are wondering what on earth I am on about....let me explain.
we would like you to use your Penny Black stamps to create a background...
so time to get your thinking caps on and get creative....
Well I don't have many PB stamps that I thought would fit the bill so I had to put my thinking cap on.

I decided to spritz a sheet of card with Tattered Angels crushed seashell mist, and stamp the first part of the
"Another 365 days trip around the sun" stamp as a watermark type effect.  It didn't go quite as well as I hoped, but it looked passable.  I think I would use a different shade of ink if I tried it again.

Stamp used is Two's company.  My current favourite :)
Paper is Basic Grey hopscotch
Sentiments are by Whimsy stamps
Ribbon is Oloroso from "The Ribbon Girl"

Hope you like it :)

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #89: No embellishments

Hi,
Thanks for dropping by.
This week the challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmies blog is
She wants you to create a project with NO embellishments!! That means no flowers, no brads, no ribbon, twine, buttons etc. You can use punches and you can sew on your designs, but that's about it. Try to keep it simple!
I decided to give it a shot.  I think I stayed within the guidelines.
I was feeling in a fairy mood so used Rosabelle,
then masked Make it Crafty Daffodill Dell over the top.
I coloured both with copics.

Paper including sentiment was Prima Madeline which is one of my favourites.
Lovely rich reds, olive greens etc  Spicy :)

I cut into the paper around a floral detail, and slotted my image inside.  I thought it was a shame to cover it, tee hee!

Butterflies were made with a Martha Stewart punch

Hope you like it.
