Penny Black Challenge

Hello,
This weeks challenge over at  Penny Black Saturday Challenge is....
ONE FOR THE GIRLIES
a chance to make something for little girls and big girls alike
perhaps something all pink fluffy and frilly...with a little or loads of bling...it's all down to you...it's your interpretation of the challenge and as always I have no doubt you will be giving us all a real treat....

I looked through my stamps and chose to use this Lady Hedgie.
She looks like she is going to visit a friend and is taking a balloon to brighten their day.

I coloured her in copics
Paper is My minds eye.
I added glossy accents and a bit of glitter to the balloon.
Flowers were from e-Bay
Leaf is a woodware punch
Sentiment is from Hero Arts cling  "Things"

I am also entering her into Penny Black at Allsorts June Challenge
Which is to use your favourite Penny Black stamp in any way you choose.
This is one of my favourites, but I will add another maybe later in the month, as I am changeable ;)

I hope you like her

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge # 80: A stitch in time

Hello,
Thank you for dropping by.  This weeks Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge is to use some hand stitching on a card.
I have only been card making for a couple of weeks, and was at a loss as to how to incorporate it.
Then *ding ding* I remembered my bargain Martha Stewart border punch leaves holes.  So ta dah that is what I chose to do.

I bought a few more KK stamps this week.
I bought Goldilocks, Red Riding Hood, Princess Petunia, and Posie.  I may have an addiction.

Hope you like her :)

Paper is My Minds Eye and DCWV
Sentiment is Fiskars
Image is coloured with copic markers

Have a great week

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

This is my first entry into the Penny Black Saturday challenge so I hope I have done everything right.

The brief is "Fussy and Fancy" and encourages the use of embellishments.
The main rule is to use a Penny Black image or sentiment.

I used the stamp "Guess what" which is great for all occasions.

I am quite new to card making so forgive the lack of polish.

I coloured the image with copics, then mounted it on metallic card.  I added a background of polka dots.
I used more of the polka dot paper to make flowers using a Nellie Snellen punch. then finished it with a ribbon and bow, and a pre made sentiment.

Hope you like it.

Bombshell Stamps: Blog Hop Challenge

This is my first attempt at a Bombshell Stamps Blog Hop.  I do hope I have done it right.

The brief was Goth up your Bombshell, and can be found here

Now I have many friends of a Gothic persuasion and they tend to fall into two "types"

The Victorian, corsetted type who relish velvets, and the more Punk version with a love of tattoos.
With this in mind I made one of each.

Here they are, hope you like them.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge: Text me

Hi,
Welcome to my blog on this sunny Tuesday.

This is my first entry to a Kraftie Kimmie Challenge so I am hoping that I have done it right.
If not please don't shout at me, just let me know what I did wrong for next time.

I am new to card making and am experimenting with styles, and images at the moment.

I fell in love with Cinderella on sight, and had to have her.  I managed to track her down on a UK retail website.
How did we manage pre internet?

I decided to enter this challenge as I already had an idea for Cinders that fit the brief.
*Text* Me!! She's asked us to use patterned paper with text on it or to use 'text' in some way.

I used DCWV Once upon a time paper.
Coloured Cinders with Copics *which I am still trying to get the hang of*
Added random Pearls and Martha Stewart glitter for an added glam factor
Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps

and here she is.  I hope you like my attempt :)

Kenny K WoW Challenge

Hey,
Welcome to my little blog.
I am new to card making and have decided to enter challenges to improve my skills.

This weeks challenge on http://kennykkraftygirlzchallenges.blogspot.com/
I have chosen a WOW card... no, not your normal WOW,/fabby cards,  but WHITE ON WHITE, so I would like to see a  white card, with a coloured image, (will allow coloured sentiment)
I have attempted it.  I don't have many different types of card, or an embossing machine, so I had to get creative.
I used punches, ribbon, and liquid pearls to create different textures.

The image is Kenny K's Milkshake which can be bought as a digi stamp by clicking here which I coloured with copics.

I loved the retro look of it, and thought it would make a fun Anniversary card.
The sentiment I created myself by downloading a free spotlight font from dafont

I hope you like it.  I certainly enjoyed making it, even though I smudged the liquid pearls :(

Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by :)

Sir Stampalot May Challenge

I made some purchases from Sir Stampalot recently, and discovered today that they have a challenge blog.
So I decided to take the plunge despite being very new to card making.  No harm in trying eh!

The brief is "Magical Worlds" and can be found here
http://sirstampalotchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/05/may-challenge.html

My entry is a Garden Fairy
I coloured the image with Copics, and hand made the flowers from punches.
I couldn't decide on a sentiment so decided to leave it as an all purpose card.

I would appreciate any feedback.
Please forgive my beginners efforts

Thanks for stopping by

Kenny K Die Cuts and punches Challenge

Hello,
I will be incredibly surprised if anyone pops along, hello if you have.

I am very new to card making, and trying to find the style of card I am best suited to making.

I LOVE the Kenny K images.  I love the Gothik Angels best especially Kitty Katastrophe.  Yet I was drawn to Uptown Angel for my first Challenge entry.  She is such a pretty thing.  I thought she would suit my overly simplistic design.  I normally grunge everything up, but decided to go for plain and striking today.

This is a die cut and punches challenge.  I don't have a die cutting machine, so went with punches.
http://kennykkraftygirlzchallenges.blogspot.com/

I used
Paper:
unknown, it was a rainbow stack

Images:
Kenny K Queens Cutie
Bugaboo digi stamp Swing

Both were coloured with copics

Punches
Half daisy border: Martha Stewart
Flowers EK success retro punch, and Nellie Snellen
Others were bog standard shapes

Hope you like it

Polka Dots and Stripes

I am very new to card making, and am enjoying it immensely.

I love searching for inspiration on line.

It was there that I discovered card challenge blogs which give a topic/style to be used.  I thought that exploring them would be a good way for me to try different techniques, until I find something that I feel fits "me".
At the moment I am loving Kenny K  and Bugaboo digital stamp sites.

This card is my entry to
Bugaboo: Catch the bug challenge: Polka dots and stripes.
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/2011/05/polka-dots-and-stripes-challenge.html

I used
Paper:
Designer paper pack by Crafts-too.com which is a pad of polka dot and stripe papers
GCD Material girl

Images
Present by Bugaboo
Queens Cutie by Kenny K

Flowers
Nellie Snellen punch

Ribbon:
Anita's

Images were partly papered, and partly coloured with copics.
I also added some Martha Stewart glitter

I hope I did this right.
